Build A Tech Residential Service Technician (BAT SVR)

Job Description

Reports directly to whom: Residential Service Supervisor

Directly Supervises Whom/What: N/A

Role: To represent Crawford Services to our customers in a way that fulfills our Core Focus and exhibits our Core Values. To learn to Diagnose and solve HVAC problems efficiently, accurately, and thoroughly. To offer comfort & energy saving solutions to our clients. To learn how to perform installs, repairs, and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units. To become familiar with commercial air conditioning installs and repairs.

 

Development stages (8-12 months DOE):

  • Ride-A long with technicians to increase skill base.
  • Help on install projects
  • Make deliveries to Technicians and or other locations as specified by the Dispatcher.
  • Change filter for customers
  • Run maintenance calls.

 

Tasks and Duties:

  • Run demand service and maintenance calls.
  • Analyze, plan, and perform preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Build the value of the services Crawford provides with the customers.
  • Make recommendations to our customers in alignment with the Crawford Services ideologies for excellent customer service while troubleshooting, repairing, and making modifications to the HVAC system.
  • Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair pumps including chill water, heating water, and condensation pumps.
  • Complete all paperwork required by Crawford Services in a timely and accurate fashion as well as maintaining maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations.
  • Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess the company core values {Honest, Respectful, Knowledgeable, Client Focused, Efficient, Profitable}
  • Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to work overtime and on call if needed.
  • Technical skills adequate to diagnose and solve most HVAC problems. The exact skill level will determine the types of jobs Crawford Services will have the technician run and usually determines the pay scale range a technician will be eligible for.
  • Will be required to purchase tools over the training period (8-12 months).
  • Must have a class C driver's license and be able to maintain a clean and safe driving record.
  • Must be EPA certified.
  • Must be registered or be able to register with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
  • Must be able to pass drug/background/MVR screenings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to see well enough to read reports, Data statistics and information on a computer screen and or tablet.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the telephone and in person.
  • Must be able to use your fingers for grasping, feeling and be able to operate a computer and or tablet and calculator.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, push or pull, reach and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb into and around confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environments and extreme weather conditions.

 

Experience:

This is an Entry level position for someone who has recently graduated or is near completion of HVAC Certification.  Candidate must be willing to learn and be able to take direction from others.
